The Ebenezery
Hello,
A special welcome to you to my page.
If you are revisiting, I say, welcome back. If you are here for the first time, glad you found your way to it.
We have done some facelifting to the website while essentially keeping the format intact. We have also found our ways into social networking platforms, with the result that less attention has been paid to regular updates of the family site. Elena is a lot more present on Facebook. Elias uses Skype to communicate with some of his friends while I do use Facebook a lot. I must confess to a tweeting addiction! If you do tweet, I invite you to follow me.
Highlights
Perhaps the biggest highlight in the year was the celebration of the 1st Holy Communion of Elias. In addition to being a religious ceremony, it is like the initiation of young kids into the Luxembourg society!
Featured photo
The featured photo for this season has to be the one below. It is some kind of initiation of young African kids into their own society. Feel free to read your own meanings into it.

Reflections
I still write my Reflections for the week series. It celebrates its fourth full year in September 2009. These short (secular) weekly notes are sent to friends and relations. They currently touch every continent stretching from Brazil to China, from USA to UAE, from Iran to Italy, from Spain to South Africa.
Some of the past issues of Reflections have been translated into Japanese and Chinese.
The medium of dissemination of the Reflections has now shifted more or less exclusively to Facebook.
The change in the disemination platform has resulted in a redefining of the demographics of the readers. Some older readers have, unfortunately, been dropped off as a result, but fully compensated for by a larger number of 20 - 35 years age group.
Time use
If there were 27 hours in the day and not just 24, I would do some more sports, listen to some more music, and be more involved in the activities of the alumni association of the University of Stirling - something I have always promised, but never found time for.
Challenges
Some of the big challenges
The big challenge moved from keeping Elias from the fridge and the television to, policing Elias's surfing on the internet to keep it safe.
This is a very tough battle and there are a few disagreements on what sites could be visited and which should be blocked.
Some of the big concerns:
I do feel concerned that our generation appears to have done more damage to the environment than any past one. I am convinced that unless we all work towards limiting the damage, we shall be leaving a very sick environment for the future generation.
Once again, thanks for visiting our website, and thanks for signing the guestbook.
